Attendance at Practices/Games

Maryland Madness is a select basketball organization. Boys and girls are selected to Maryland Madness teams based on their skill level and expressed commitment to a high level of youth basketball. When players are selected to a Maryland Madness team it is assumed that playing with Maryland Madness will become an important activity for that player. The success of Maryland Madness depends on the commitment of all of its players and coaches to all Maryland Madness activities. When players fail to regularly attend practice or games, the team suffers and the experience becomes less enjoyable for the other team members and the volunteer coach.

Therefore, it is expected that each player selected for a Maryland Madness team will regularly attend practices and games as scheduled and will arrive for such practices and games on time and ready to play, as directed by the coaches. Maryland Madness acknowledges that certain irregular circumstances may interfere with this commitment from time to time. School work, religious obligations, family commitments and illness are all considered to be valid excuses from practice or games. In the event that a player is unable to make a practice or game, that player (or his parents/legal guardian) must contact the coach as soon as possible prior to the practice/game to notify him/her of the absence. Repeated or prolonged absences without notification/justification are grounds for dismissal from a Maryland Madness team in the discretion of the coach.
